What Do We Do About It

Well, I went to Home Depot to get a simple "Professional Dip Stick Type" water testing kit.  It works and it works well.

We set about to see if my no prior knowledge of plumbing, wood working, filtering, safety had done anything but more importantly not hurt us.  The tests show that the Home Depot ( made by Water Boss) is one of the best water softeners made.  I used to be the Culligan man and went through an intense training course headed up by Bill Ledbetter (?)  It was one of the last door to door sales companies in the world.  It was an intense course designed to take you down and build you up, ho hum.

Culligan was built on pure profit.  The top of the line softener was about $1200. The cost to the biz I worked for was under $200.  manufacturers price to us.  Everyone got a big gyp (commission).  I think my first sale was about a 250 buck commish, a lot in the early '80's.

Anyway, my spouse and I tested the Home Depot water softener and installed by me was spot on.  A Home Depot guy helped me through every step of the way, assembled what I would need and wow, I did it.

We then tested the tap water carefully to see how good our Multi-Pure USA water purifier with arsenic addition was doing.  I put it in before the softener as recommended by MultiPure USA.  The install was as good as I could do, I was amazed.  If you knew me, you would think that too.

We have some of the worst water in the country in Broome County.

What can we do about it.  We are going along our merry way and suddenly the doctor's report of your blood comers back with, you better make an appointment immediately.

Men might think, heart, stroke, testicular cancer, prostate cancer.

A woman's first thought might be breast or cervical cancer.

The waiting for the appointment might seem to some as forever to others, who cares, we all have to go sometime.

My physician is dead honest with me.  I get the blood report within the week it was drawn and I follow up and check for mistakes.

Personally, I do not know where my pain threshold lies. I have been on pain killers, anti anxiety and non depression pills since I was I was hit by a car while riding my bicycle.  A second accident, took out both rotator cuffs with multiple tears and impingements.  (Neither accidents were my fault, I do not drink and take prescribed medication only, absolutely no street drugs of any kind.)  The only Doctor I trusted was the one my physician sent me to at the Guthrie Clinic in Pennsylvania as the current expert in his field, who said in your current medical condition, on a beautiful day with the sun shining, everyone feeling good, on the top of my game, I guarantee failure on both shoulders because of your existing problems.  Even if I felt at the the top of the game of my life, I will and would not operate.  Loss of use was a real possibility.

Then, we have the shmucks over the river a medical group of hacks who herd patients in and out like cattle.  Out of four I had seen, all wanted to set a surgery date and go in immediately and try to fix it.  I could not get a guarantee except possible loss of use.  I had all this in writing, yet when an attorney got involved, these "doctors," started to cover tracks, change diagnoses and generally muddy the water as soon as possible.

The prescribed drugs keep everything in check to the maximum pain level of 10 which I am used to.  The only way people with constant pain sometimes know they have it is if they are touched.  I have Fibromyalgia which goes to any part of the body or organ it wants.  Sometime it plays multiple games and goes everywhere.  

These drugs let me keep a fairly normal life, without them and unfortunately living in New York State, it is a constant battle with people who make laws who can easily get drugs, scrip and street who want to keep everyone in pain, change the ratings of drugs in the C scale to much higher than they should be, keep them expensive, with ridiculous drug laws which send people to alternate sources, although I would rather die than do that, and almost did one day, who spend inordinate amounts of money and are in constant fear of being out of them for even hours.

We have had a lot of cancer on both sides of my family and my spouse's.  We had a bad report.  It came back benign, and as I prayed to God through Jesus, I heard a non audible voice, that she was healed.  

I felt as a traitor when I started taking steps to totally clean our living environment, get the best water filter available (Multi-Pure USA in Las Vegas) even through it is a multi-level marketing scheme, which I hate, and is on the front page of this web site page to help others who might be too sick to do the mounds of research necessary and be taken advantage of by unscrupulous dealers who sell "death water" (distilled water) on their web sites as well, as expensive stupid machines, which the Mayo Clinic says to stay away from, (alkaline water machines, $850-7500. when I last looked, called Kangen water by the Japanese) because it is the best solid block carbon water filter in the world.  I ordered the arsenic filter option and am making the water for my Mom and anyone else who wants it.  There is also a nutwhackjob selling something called hydrogen water sticks?  Wow, really nutz!

I clean our eating areas, I got rid of the rusty sink and cleaned an old and dirty counter we prepared food at, plus went to Home Depot, where a nice guy named Bill helped me with cabinets, plumbing, a new soft water machine, a stainless steel sink and fixtures.  This took me a total of six months with electrical, wood, stair, etc work which I knew nothing about before I started.

I invested in an excellent vegetable and fruit juicer called Brieville, 800JEXL.  Although we had problems with the machines, because they have them made cheaply in China, use refurbished parts for even "new" machines, it is the best, fastest, easiest cleanup of all of them, I had them here, so I know, three "new" machines, replaced by ABT in Chicago, IL, a 70 year old family business who does the same or greater volume of business as Best Buy, and an excellent person who saw that it was her duty to see the purchase was completed to our satisfaction.  It was.  Although this wonderful person and myself, discussed this is as good as it going to get and my stating the fact that she went way above beyond the call of duty a we appreciated it more than she could imagine, we left it where it was because all there was left was cosmetic non perfection and the only thing that was really important was the juicing screen, (phenomenal), and the motor balance.  Everything else was secondary.  She gave it her all, my wife and I agreed wholeheartedly.
